July 2023 Determination: Accredited for five (5) years, 2023-2028
This was the first full accreditation visit for Universidad Iberoamericana (UNIBE) School of
Medicine in the Dominican Republic. The site visit took place February 5-10, 2023 and involved
a survey of its basic science campus and clinical teaching sites in the Dominican Republic. The
site visit team members were:
1. Professor Robert Carroll (Team Chair & Secretary)
2. Dr Maria Padilla
3. Dr Mirna Maribel García
The CAAM-HP at its meeting held July 19-20, 2023 considered and accepted the site visit report
of the ad hoc site visit team.
Decision: The Authority, after careful consideration of the site visit report, granted
Accreditation for five (5) years from 2023-2028. The Authority expressed concern
that there appears to be no ethos for promoting research among faculty and
recommended that the school consider ways to incentivise faculty to pursue
research.
CAAM-HP looks forward to receiving the annual progress reports indicating efforts
being made to address issues cited in the site visit report and in this letter.
