November 2020 Update The 2020 Progress Report from el Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC) was presented to the CAAM-HP at its Annual General Meeting held November 18-19, 2020. The Authority considered and accepted the progress report with a request for clarification of the means of assessing clinical skills. CAAM-HP expressed concerned about attrition rates, the effectiveness of career guidance and low pass rates in external examinations.
July 2019 Update The 2019 Progress Report from INTEC was presented to the CAAM-HP at its meeting held July 25-27, 2019. The Authority considered and accepted the progress report but noted a lack of evidence to validate assertions in the report. There was also concern about the seemingly low pass rates in external examinations. The Authority expects to receive annual progress reports indicating continued efforts to address the outstanding issues.
July 2018 Determination: Accredited for five (5) years, 2018-2023 This was the first full accreditation visit for Instituto Tecnológico de Santo Domingo (INTEC). INTEC is a medical school in the Dominican Republic. The site visit took place May 19-26, 2017 and involved a survey of its basic science campus and clinical teaching sites in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The site visit team members were: 1. Professor Bertha Garcia (Team Chair) 2. Professor Roberto Mendoza (Team Secretary) 3. Professor Ricardo Leon Borquez 4. Professor Juan Guzman The CAAM-HP at its meeting held July 29-31, 2018 considered and accepted the site visit report of the ad hoc site visit team. Decision: The Authority accorded Accreditation with Conditions for five (5) years, 2018- 2023 and expects to receive annual progress reports indicating steps taken to address the issues cited in the site visit report and CAAM-HP’s letter.
